March Desktop and would you like some of this stuff?

The desktop will be at the end of the post, gotta wait for it to be uploaded before it can be set up.

First things first, the photo from last post is not of goats. Hubby just looked at it and told me those were sheep. Sigh, no matter how I try, you cannot take this city girl anywhere, sheep get called goats.

Today’s photo was at the gas station. So,  I think I will show you yesterday’s photo. I came down with this strange type headache yesterday, blurry vision at the edges, dizziness and pain. It was not a migraine as I was not screaming in pain like I hear people with migraines want to do. But, it sure hurt. It is not gone today but life has to go one. DD thinks it is because the pollen count is so high. Anyway, yesterday was one for medication. Thank goodness for doctors and pharmacies. We keep a fairly large stock of pharmaceuticals in the house.  I wonder if it had anything to do with the fact that yesterday I had to do payroll?

Today, was nail day and I got my acrylics refilled. Sometimes I wonder if I should get these things taken off and then I remember what it is like without them. My own nails, the real-biological ones, are very thin and they break off down into the quick very easy. So, I pay to keep my fingers from getting sore. Of course, vanity also plays a part in the decision. I would never say it didn’t. Do you thing acrylic nails are a extravagant luxury that retired people like me should abstain from?

Anyway, as today was nail day we went to town and I had them done. Then afterwards we went to eat–Olive Garden–I kept it light due to the headache. But, the main problem was the music. It was background, elevator type music with a lot of jazz in there too. But, it was playing way too loud. In my opinion, a restaurant like Olive Garden should have it’s music playing like background music, not something that you have to talk over. What do you all think, should that type of music at a restaurant be very loud? We asked the waitress if she could get it turned down. But, I don’t think she took the request seriously. Nothing happened and it wasn’t mentioned again.

Moving ON

I’ve been having a little fun lately with eBay–There are these old paper scrapbooking things and these rubber stamps that I have been trying to sell. The things that are selling the easiest are my CTMH acrylic stamps. I had a stash of alphabet stickers on and it did not receive one bid. There were loads of good stamps in that lot too. Then, I had some ribbons all rolled up on cardboard ready to use–those sold good. It’s really funny what will sell and what won’t. So, if anyone is interested in these alphabet stickers, I will send them to you for just the price of the shipping. I also have a load of scrapbooking paper that I would love to give away, again for just the price of the shipping. Drop me a email and we can do business. I have a sizzix that would take loads of money for the shipping, so if anyone lives in Central Texas, within an hour of Temple, I will meet you half way!!

Can you tell I am desperate to get this scrapbooking stuff cleaned out? It would be so nice to find a good home for all this stuff. I keep meaning to call the local elementary school and see if they would be interested. I kind of feel they have been inundated with this kind of stuff though, cause there has to be a bunch of other ladies out there like me who are trying to find good homes for their stuff.

About your nails – what I think is that if they make you happy, who cares what anyone else thinks? lol, when I turned 62, I decided to let my hair grow – and it’s long now, regardless of whether or not I am “too old” to wear my hair like I like it. Life is short – enjoy it while we’re here!
