Sushi – the Shoe – and a CU Freebie
Hubbie is home!! Just had to put that little bit of jubilee in first.
Wednesday night the youngest daughter and I went out to eat. She wanted to get her mind off things and also wanted to introduce me to sushi. We were not going to eat the raw fish kind, but some with other ingredients. I looked it up online and found that the raw fish itself is called sashimi. There is a resturant here in the area that supposedly serves real good stuff like this. My oldest daughter is quite taken with sushi and knows what is good and not good – she says this resturant is good. Actually she was the one who introduced it to the younger daughter. Where in the world did this girl come from that she would advocate ruining good fish this way?
Anyway, I went with the younger daughter to this cool resturant and once seated we discussed the different kinds of sushi available. You order different kinds – 6 or 7 peices of each kind. It’s made when you order and not ahead of time. They must have had at least fifty kinds of sushi available. But, I said yes I would taste it but would order for me some sukiyaki steak for my meal. While waiting on our food we watched at some other tables where the chefs were entertaining the customers and cooking their food. We saw the onion smoke stack, and other things. These chefs seems to delight in tossing food around into people’s plates with no warning!
So when the food came, younger daughter showed me how to mix the soy sauce and wasabi paste to make the dipping juice and then proceeded to put these rolled up things directly into her mouth. Oh, lets not forget this young lady was using chopsticks. Where did she learn how to do that? Not wanting to be narrow minded and a spoilsport to boot, I proceeded to try to do the same. Well, first of all, the chop sticks just did not want to work for me. There was a time when I could pick up a single grain of rice with chopsticks but evidently you loose the art. But, I perservered with a fork and finally got a whole roll into my mouth. I chewed and chewed and worked it around and finally was able to swallow it and that is the last piece of sushi I will ever eat! It was not raw fish – none of that was ordered. It had crab, avaocado and bits and pieces of other stuff in it. But, I got a taste in the back of my throat that just did not feel good at all.
But, the two of us had a good time together and that was the important part.
Moving on
I finally got my tennis shoe kit up in the stores. It is a Photoshop Action to take any background paper and turn it into a tennis shoe. I am really proud of this action and have been telling everyone about it. It was fun to make and a challenge. You cannot have actions do the dodge and burn thing which is how I do a lot of my shaping. So I had to find other ways to put shape and personality on those shoes. If you click on one of the links under my banner up there it will take you to the stores that have this action.
Moving ON
We got water pressure finally. It came in Wednesday night. I firmly believe this water pressure is the best we have ever had up here on the hill. I don’t know what they did but it sure is nice to go to turn on the water and actually get water! It comes out so good that the aireators in the spigots work when they did not use to.
Now for the CU Freebie I have for you all. Have you noticed that when I have a new product to show you I try to give you a freebie as well. It kind helps me feel less like an advetising spot. I wanna do more here than advertise. What I have for you tonight is a set of crown shapes. You can use these to make some awesome crowns. Just turn them into silver or gold, then add a few gems and jewels to them. Or perhaps you can use them to stamp onto a photo. Crown your child or hubbie in a photo. There are six shapes in png format. They can be made into brushes as well. There are Commercial Use items.
